Every client thinks their ticket is the urgent one
An IT services firm lives on interruptions. A password reset for one client, a server migration for another, a laptop rollout for a third, all arriving through email, phone and chat to whichever technician the client happens to know. The firm’s real queue ends up spread across inboxes, and the account that shouts loudest gets the people.
ShipSprint gives each client its own project and board. Every incoming request lands first in a triage inbox, where a lead decides what it is, which client it belongs to and who takes it. Per-column WIP limits on each board show when a technician or a client queue is full, before one more “quick job” is accepted.
The technician’s own view is a “my day” screen: today’s items across every client, a one-tap time log, and an “I’m blocked” button for when a client hasn’t sent credentials or a vendor hasn’t shipped the part. It pulls in the person who can unblock it, with the card’s context attached.
Hours that are already on the right account
When a contract is billed by the hour, or a block of support hours runs down each month, the time log is the revenue. On Team and up, a technician logs time in about five seconds next to the ticket they just closed. Because every ticket sits in a client’s project, the hours are attached to that client without anyone sorting them later, and weekly timesheets gather them per person.
If someone forgets a day, the reminder goes to them, not to their manager. That keeps logging a habit instead of a disciplinary matter, and nothing in ShipSprint watches people to fill the gap: there are no screenshots, no keystroke logging and no activity tracking.
The manager dashboard on Team shows who is carrying which accounts this week, so a lead can rebalance before a technician is buried. On Business, delivery forecasts from measured velocity help with project work such as migrations, where a client wants to know whether the cut-over weekend still holds.
What a multi-client IT firm runs on it
Requests from every channel go to one inbox and get a client, a priority and an owner before anyone starts work.
Each client’s setup notes and procedures live in the built-in wiki with page history. Any line in a runbook can become a task.
On Team and up, work follow-ups and email digests keep the “we’ll get back to you Thursday” promises in view.
On Team and up, Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can read and update the workspace over MCP, limited to what that user may already see.
A command center across all client accounts, scorecards adjusted for leave, and the workspace audit log.
What to know before a Montreal IT firm signs up
Who you’re buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company in Hyderabad, India, builds and sells ShipSprint. It has no office or local entity in Canada. Support works by email and in-app chat.
Time zones. IST is 10 hours 30 minutes ahead of Montreal in winter and 9 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Replies to support questions usually come the same working day in India, so a setup question sent before you leave for the evening is often answered by the next morning.
Billing. Plans are priced per seat in Indian rupees and paid through Razorpay. Your bank converts each charge to Canadian dollars. Ask your accountant how GST, HST or QST works for a service bought from a supplier abroad.
Data protection. Your firm is covered by PIPEDA, and Quebec’s Law 25 adds provincial requirements. Client tickets often contain names, emails and device details, which makes the vendor question sharper for a service provider. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against your own obligations and each client’s contract before importing ticket history.
Covering the desk through the holidays
Clients still need help when your technicians are off. Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and out-of-office, so an on-call rota for Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day on 24 June, Canada Day on 1 July, Thanksgiving in October and the Christmas to New Year period can be planned against who is actually around.
