The first project tool at a startup is usually chosen in an afternoon, by whoever needed a board most. Two years later the company has a sprint tool, a separate time tracker for a grant report, a wiki nobody updates and a spreadsheet the founder uses to see what’s actually happening. Each one made sense when it was added.

ShipSprint is meant to be the one you keep. It starts as a board. As the company grows, the same workspace takes on sprints, time logs, a wiki, hiring pipelines and launch checklists, with templates for engineering, HR, marketing and operations on one subscription. Nothing has to be moved to a new tool when the second team arrives.

What each stage costs, honestly

Two founders and a first hire. Free covers up to 5 users and 2 projects with core boards and every project template, for as long as you like. It doesn’t include time tracking, the GitHub integration or AI assistant access, which start on Team. Forecasts come later still, with Business.

A small engineering team. Team is ₹299 per user per month, or ₹2,899 per user per year, for up to 40 people and 100 projects. It adds GitHub branches that move cards and merged pull requests that close them, time tracking and timesheets, capacity planning that counts leave, the manager dashboard and access from Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor or Antigravity over MCP.

When investors ask for dates. Business is ₹599 per user per month, or ₹6,499 per year. It adds delivery forecasts from measured velocity, the owner command center with a Monday digest, scorecards, the audit log, sign-in with Google or Microsoft, priority support and unlimited projects.

The trial is the full Business plan for 14 days with a sample project already loaded. If nobody upgrades, the workspace drops to Free and nothing is deleted.

Before a Montreal startup signs up

Who you’re buying from. ShipSprint belongs to Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., in Hyderabad, India. We have no office or local entity in Canada, and support is by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 10 hours 30 minutes ahead of Montreal in winter and 9 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Replies usually come within the same working day in India, which suits a founder who sends questions at night and reads answers over breakfast.

Billing. Paid seats are charged in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank turns that into Canadian dollars on your statement. Ask your accountant how GST, HST or QST applies to a service from a foreign supplier.

Data protection. Even a five-person company handles personal information under PIPEDA, and Quebec’s Law 25 adds provincial rules. Before your first customer’s details end up in a card, look over the sub-processor list and the security overview and check them against your obligations and contracts. Full JSON export is on every plan, so leaving later is straightforward.

Small teams feel every day off

With four people, one person on holiday is a quarter of the company. On Team and up, capacity planning includes approved leave and public holidays: in Montreal that means Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day on 24 June, Canada Day on 1 July, Thanksgiving in October and the Christmas to New Year period, worth checking before you promise a demo date.
