A startup that sells to energy, engineering or industrial customers may well be founded by people from those industries. The early team might be two developers, a process engineer and a founder who knows the customer’s problem better than anyone. Which plan, at which stage

The first few people. Free covers the core boards for up to 5 users and 2 projects, with every project template and community support. There’s no time limit. That’s enough to run the first product and the first customer conversations.

The first hires and the first code base worth protecting. Team, at ₹299 per user per month or ₹2,899 per year, adds GitHub integration (branches move cards and merged pull requests close them), time tracking and timesheets, the manager dashboard, capacity planning that counts leave, email digests and AI assistant access over MCP. It covers up to 40 users and 100 projects.

When dates face investors or a large customer. Business, at ₹599 per user per month or ₹6,499 per year, adds delivery forecasts from measured velocity, the owner command center with its Monday digest, leave-adjusted scorecards, the workspace audit log, sign-in with Google or Microsoft, priority support and unlimited projects.

The 14-day trial gives you Business with a sample project and no card. If nobody upgrades, you’re back on Free with nothing deleted. Any paid charge is refunded in full within 7 days.

The first big customer’s questions

A large industrial customer will eventually send a vendor questionnaire, and it may ask about your tools as well as your product. The short answers for ShipSprint: each workspace is an isolated tenant, two-factor authentication is available to every user, sign-in with Google or Microsoft and the audit log come with Business. Every plan has a full JSON export. Nothing in the product takes screenshots, logs keystrokes or tracks activity.

With a small team, one person on holiday is a big share of capacity. On Team and up, approved leave and public holidays count against capacity, which matters most around the Christmas to New Year period, Canada Day on 1 July and Thanksgiving in October.

What a Calgary founder should know before signing up

Who you’re buying from. ShipSprint is a product of Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, India. It has no office or local entity in Canada, and support is through email and in-app chat (community support on Free).

Time zones. IST is 12 hours 30 minutes ahead of Calgary in winter and 11 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. That puts our working day in your night, and support replies usually come the same working day, Indian time, so expect answers overnight.

Billing. Paid seats are charged in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your card’s bank converts them to Canadian dollars. Whether GST applies to a service from a foreign supplier is a question for your accountant.

Data protection. PIPEDA applies to the personal information a startup collects, and Alberta also has its own private-sector privacy law. Before customer or trial data goes in, read the sub-processor list and the security overview and check them against those rules and your customer agreements.
