Planning that has to survive a cost review

Calgary is the head-office city for much of Canada’s oil and gas industry, and teams that work for that industry should expect their schedules to be questioned. Using ShipSprint from Calgary: what to know first

Who you’re buying from. ShipSprint is developed by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, India. It has no office or local entity in Canada or Alberta, and support runs by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 12 hours 30 minutes ahead of Calgary in winter and 11 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer, so the Indian working day falls in your night. Support replies usually come the same working day, Indian time, which for you means a question sent in the afternoon is typically answered by the next morning.

Billing. Plans are billed per seat in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the charge to Canadian dollars. How Canada’s GST applies to a digital service from a non-resident supplier is a question for your accountant.

Data protection. Federally, private-sector personal information is covered by PIPEDA, and Alberta is one of the provinces with its own private-sector privacy law. The sub-processor list names every provider that handles workspace data, and the security overview explains tenant isolation, two-factor authentication and JSON export. Check both against your obligations and client contracts before personal data goes in.
