One account, several people asking
An IT services contract with a large client often isn't one relationship. The infrastructure group, a business unit and the client's own IT department may all raise work under the same agreement, each through their own contact. On the services side, the same few engineers handle all of it, usually alongside work for other clients.
When those requests arrive by email and phone, two things go wrong. Work gets prioritised by whoever asked most recently or most forcefully, and nobody can say with confidence how much of the bench one account is really using until the month-end hours are added up.
ShipSprint gives each client its own project and board. Per-column WIP limits make a full queue visible before the next request is accepted, and every incoming request, from any of the client's departments, goes into a triage inbox where someone on your side assigns it deliberately.
What changes day to day
Each client account is its own project, and a large account can be split into workstreams per department while staying under one client.
New tickets and change requests wait in the triage inbox until they're assigned, so an urgent-sounding email doesn't jump the queue on its own.
On Team and up, engineers log time next to the task they just finished. Reminders for missing days go to the engineer, not their manager.
Because every task sits in a client's project, the week's hours arrive already attached to the right account for invoicing or contract reporting.
On Business, each project's delivery date is forecast from its own measured velocity, so one slipping milestone shows up before the account review.
Hours that match the contract
On a time-and-materials contract the timesheet is the invoice, and on a fixed-scope one the hours are the early warning that a build is running over. Either way, hours reconstructed on the last day of the month are guesses. Logging takes about five seconds on Team and up, right after the work is done, so the record is made while it's still accurate.
None of this relies on watching people. ShipSprint has no screenshots, no keystroke logging and no activity tracking; hours are what engineers log themselves. On Business, scorecards reflect delivered work, are adjusted for approved leave, and are visible to the engineer they describe.
Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and out-of-office. Before agreeing a go-live date with a client, check it against Golden Week in late April and early May, Obon in mid-August and the New Year holidays, when both your engineers and the client's approvers are likely to be away.
Keeping the agreement next to the work
A client's change request usually comes with context: what was agreed in a meeting, which department signed off, what was explicitly left out. The built-in wiki keeps that record next to the client's board, with page history, and any sentence on a page can become a task. When a question comes back months later about why something was built a particular way, the answer is on the page rather than in someone's memory.
On Team and up, engineers can also query the workspace from Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor or Antigravity over MCP, with exactly their own permissions. On Business, every assistant action is recorded in the workspace audit log, which is useful when a client asks who changed what.
Using ShipSprint from Tokyo: what to check
Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company in Hyderabad, India, builds and sells ShipSprint. It has no office or local entity in Japan; support is by email and in-app chat.
Time zones. IST is 3 hours 30 minutes behind Tokyo, with no daylight saving on either side. Questions sent before mid-afternoon in Tokyo reach support inside the Indian working day, and replies usually arrive the same working day, Indian time.
Billing. ShipSprint charges per seat in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank handles the conversion to yen. Ask your accountant how consumption tax applies to a service supplied from abroad.
Data protection. If client tickets you copy into ShipSprint contain personal information, the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) applies to how you handle it, and your client contracts may add conditions of their own. Review the sub-processor list and the security overview against both before you start.
