One bench, two kinds of client
An integrator in Adelaide might support a supplier to a defence program in the morning and fix a commercial client's email migration in the afternoon. The first engagement needs every change request written down, approved and traceable. The second just needs the ticket closed today.
When both kinds of request come through the same inbox, the careful one tends to get handled at the speed of the routine one. A change gets made without the paper trail, and three months later nobody can show who approved it. Meanwhile the routine client's tickets wait behind work that should have been scheduled properly.
ShipSprint lets each client have its own project, board and columns. A contract-heavy account can have an explicit approval column before anything goes to "in progress"; a support account can run a simple three-column queue. Requests for either arrive in a triage inbox, where someone decides where they belong before anyone starts work.
What a services firm gets
The parts that decide whether a support contract is profitable and defensible.
Each client board can carry the stages that client's contract requires, with per-column WIP limits so a queue that's filling up is visible.
Decisions and approvals live in the wiki with page history. On Business, the workspace audit log shows who changed what and when.
A five-second time log sits next to the ticket just closed. On Team and up, timesheets show where each engineer's week went, project by project.
The manager dashboard shows who is spread across several clients and who has room before you accept the next piece of work.
Client environments, escalation contacts and known fixes in the built-in wiki, where any line can be turned into a ticket.
Scope, plainly
ShipSprint is general-purpose project management software. It doesn't hold defence or government accreditation and isn't designed for classified or export-controlled information. For an integrator, that usually means tracking the unclassified side of an engagement (schedules, tasks, hours, approvals) here, and keeping restricted technical material where the client's contract says it must live.
Within that scope, every workspace is an isolated tenant, two-factor authentication is available to every user, and the full workspace exports as JSON on any plan. On Business, staff can sign in with Google or Microsoft, so access follows your existing accounts.
There's no monitoring of engineers: no screenshots, keystroke logging or activity tracking. Reminders about a missing time entry go to the engineer, and on Business each person's scorecard is adjusted for approved leave and visible to them.
Cover over Christmas and January
Support contracts keep running through the Christmas to late-January summer break and Easter. Out-of-office and capacity planning on Team and up include approved leave and public holidays, so a lead can see which client boards will be thin in a given week. South Australian public holidays won't always match those of a client in another state, which is worth checking for any account with an agreed response time.
When the usual engineer is away, the "I'm blocked" button pulls in a colleague with the ticket's context attached, and the client's runbook is in the wiki.
Before an Adelaide IT firm signs up
Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a Hyderabad, India company, makes and supports ShipSprint. It has no office or local entity in Australia. Support is by email and in-app chat.
Time zones. IST is 5 hours behind Adelaide in January, under daylight saving, and 4 hours behind in July. Our working day overlaps with your afternoon, so a support question sent in the morning is usually answered the same Indian working day. Plan cut-overs so you aren't waiting on a reply mid-change.
Billing. Each seat is charged in Indian rupees through Razorpay; your bank converts it to Australian dollars. Ask your accountant how GST treats a service bought from an overseas supplier.
Data protection. Client tickets often carry personal information covered by the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, and your client contracts may add stricter terms. Review the sub-processor list and the security overview against both before moving client data in.
