Pilots that run alongside the roadmap
Selling software to big industrial or energy companies, or to any enterprise with a procurement department, rarely ends with a signature after a demo. There's a pilot, sometimes two. Each one comes with integration work, a customer-specific configuration and a list of "must haves before rollout" that lands on the engineering team on top of the roadmap.
In most tools, pilot work gets mixed into the main backlog and disappears. ShipSprint lets you give each pilot its own project, so the work for a prospect is visible, sized and owned, and the people on the core product can see exactly how much of their sprint it's taking. Requests from the prospect's team go through the triage inbox first, where product decides what's a pilot fix, what belongs on the roadmap and what can wait.
On Team and up, the engineering boards follow GitHub: branches move cards and merged pull requests close them. A pilot's progress is the code that's actually merged, not a status somebody typed before the customer call.
Feature commitments in the contract
Large customers often want a feature written into the agreement, with a quarter attached. Once it's there, a slipped release is a commercial problem, not just an engineering one. On Business, delivery forecasts are recalculated from the team's measured velocity at the end of every sprint, so if the committed feature is drifting, account management hears about it while there's time to talk to the customer.
The specification lives in the built-in wiki, with page history showing what was agreed and when it changed. Any sentence in a spec can become a task, which keeps the promise in the contract and the work on the board describing the same thing.
Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and out-of-office. Before you agree a date, check it against Thanksgiving week in late November, Independence Day on 4 July and the end-of-December holidays, on both your side and the customer's, since a rollout needs their people too.
Who uses it, and for what
A project per pilot with its own board, so integration tasks and customer requests aren't lost in the main backlog.
The triage inbox for every customer request, and specs in the wiki that turn into tasks line by line.
WIP-limited sprint boards synced with GitHub on Team and up. Developers can query or update cards from Claude Code or Cursor over MCP, with their own permissions.
On Business, forecasts for committed features and a Monday digest from the owner command center.
Isolated tenants, two-factor authentication for every user and, on Business, the workspace audit log and sign-in with Google or Microsoft.
Your customers will ask about your vendors
An enterprise security questionnaire usually asks which third parties can see the customer's data. If support tickets or pilot notes in ShipSprint will include customer names, configurations or contacts, ShipSprint becomes one of the answers. Read the sub-processor list and the security overview before that happens, not during the review.
ShipSprint doesn't claim certifications, so don't list any for it on a questionnaire. What it does provide is an isolated tenant per workspace, two-factor authentication, a full JSON export on every plan, and no screenshots, keystroke logging or activity tracking of your own staff.
What a Houston SaaS company should know first
Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. builds ShipSprint in Hyderabad, India. There is no office or local entity in the US. Support is by email and in-app chat, with priority support on Business.
Time zones. IST is 11 hours 30 minutes ahead of Houston in winter and 10 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Replies usually come the same working day in India, which falls overnight for you, so raise anything you'll need for a customer meeting a day or two ahead.
Billing. Seats are billed per user in Indian rupees through Razorpay; your bank converts the charge to dollars. How sales tax applies to a service bought from abroad is a question for your accountant.
Data protection. The US has no single federal privacy law. State laws such as California's CCPA and sector rules such as HIPAA may apply, depending on your customers' data. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against those obligations and the data terms in your customer contracts.
