A team whose meeting times move twice a year

Arizona doesn't observe daylight saving time, so Phoenix stays on the same clock all year while most of the country shifts. In summer, Phoenix lines up with the West Coast; in winter, with Denver. For a team with a head office in another state or clients on both coasts, the daily stand-up quietly moves by an hour every March and November, and someone is always early or late.

That's a small irritation, but it points at a bigger one. When status lives in meetings, every scheduling problem becomes a visibility problem. Miss the call and you miss what changed.

ShipSprint puts status on the board instead. A card's column is its state, a blocked task is flagged with one tap, and the person who can unblock it is pulled in with the context attached, whatever time it is where they are. Each person starts on a "my day" screen showing today's items and a one-tap time log, rather than an hour of catching up on a thread.

Getting started

Four things to set up in the first week

The 14-day trial gives you the full Business plan with a sample project, so you can try each of these before paying.

A triage inbox

Point every new request at it. Someone decides what enters the board, so work doesn't arrive by direct message.

WIP limits

Set a limit on each in-progress column. When it's full, the team finishes something before starting something else.

GitHub, if you write code

On Team and up, branches move cards and merged pull requests close them, so the board matches the repository.

The wiki

Move decisions and how-to notes into pages with history. Any sentence can become a task, so notes turn into actions.

Updates that arrive without a call

On Team and up, email digests and work follow-ups keep people current on the work they're part of, without a call to find out. The manager dashboard shows the team in one place. On Business, the owner command center covers every team and a Monday digest arrives assembled, which helps when leadership is in another state.

Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and out-of-office. The US weeks that thin out a team are Thanksgiving week in late November, Independence Day on 4 July and the end-of-December holidays, and they're worth entering before a release date is promised.

There's no monitoring in any of this: no screenshots, no keystroke logging, no activity tracking. On Business, scorecards are leave-adjusted and visible to the person they describe.

Using ShipSprint from Phoenix: what to know first

Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is built by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, India. There is no office or local entity in the US. Support is by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 12 hours 30 minutes ahead of Phoenix, and because neither Arizona nor India changes its clocks, that gap holds all year. Our working day falls during your night, so a question sent in the afternoon usually has a reply by the time you start the next morning.

Billing. Plans are billed per seat in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the charge to dollars. Whether Arizona tax applies to software bought from a foreign vendor is a question for your accountant.

Data protection. The US has no single federal privacy law. A growing set of state laws, such as California's CCPA, may apply depending on whose data you hold, with sector rules like HIPAA for health data on top. Read the sub-processor list and the security overview and check both against your own obligations and client contracts.

FAQ

Questions from Phoenix teams

No. Neither Arizona nor India uses daylight saving time, so the gap stays at 12 hours 30 minutes. Your gap with colleagues in most other states does change in March and November.
