Work that someone will ask about later
Boston is a major centre for universities, hospitals and the life sciences, and a lot of the software built here serves those worlds. That shapes how teams need to keep records. A product decision made this spring may be questioned by a customer's compliance reviewer next year, or by a new hire who wasn't there when it was made.
In most tools the reasoning lives in chat threads and meeting notes that nobody can find again, while the board only shows that a task was done. When the question comes, someone spends an afternoon reconstructing a story from memory.
ShipSprint keeps the two together. The built-in wiki has page history, so you can see what a spec said and when it changed, and any sentence on a page can become a task on the board. The decision and the work it produced stay linked.
Who did what, and with which permissions
For teams that answer to auditors, grant officers or hospital procurement, the record of actions matters as much as the work. On Business, the workspace audit log records changes, including every action taken by an AI assistant. Assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor connect over MCP on Team and Business, and they can only do what the person who connected them could do.
Every workspace is an isolated tenant, every user can turn on two-factor authentication, and Business adds sign-in with Google or Microsoft. The full workspace can be exported as JSON on any plan, which helps when a records policy asks how you'd get your data back.
Nothing in ShipSprint watches people. There are no screenshots, no keystroke logging and no activity tracking. Scorecards on Business are adjusted for approved leave and visible to the person they describe.
The same workspace for very different teams
Engineering, HR, marketing and operations each get their own templates and vocabulary.
Sprints and WIP-limited boards. On Team and up, GitHub branches move cards and merged pull requests close them.
Long-running workstreams, recurring tasks and a triage inbox for requests from other departments, tracked in operations vocabulary.
Candidate pipelines and onboarding checklists, so the first week of a new starter is a list with an owner.
On Business, the owner command center across teams, a Monday digest and delivery forecasts from measured velocity.
Planning around a Massachusetts year
Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and public holidays. Across the US, the weeks that catch teams out are Thanksgiving week in late November, Independence Day on 4 July and the end-of-December holidays. Massachusetts also observes Patriots' Day, a state holiday on the third Monday in April, so it's worth adding to the calendar if your staff get it off.
If you build for universities, requests may bunch up around the start and end of academic terms. Putting those requests through the triage inbox, rather than straight onto a developer, keeps a busy September from wrecking a sprint that was planned in August.
Using ShipSprint from Boston: what to know first
Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., in Hyderabad, India, makes ShipSprint. There's no office or local entity in the US. Support is by email and in-app chat.
Time zones. IST is 10 hours 30 minutes ahead of Boston in winter and 9 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Our day ends before yours starts, so replies, which usually come the same Indian working day, land in your inbox overnight or early morning. Give full details in the first message.
Billing. Seats are billed per user in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the charge to dollars. How Massachusetts sales or use tax applies to software bought from abroad is a question for your accountant.
Data protection. There's no single federal privacy law in the US. State laws such as California's CCPA, Massachusetts's own data security regulations, and sector rules like HIPAA for health data may all apply. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against those obligations and your contracts, and keep patient or research-subject data out of tasks unless you've confirmed it's allowed.
