Two kinds of work: the product and the go-lives

A SaaS company that sells to labs, clinics or research organisations runs two kinds of work at once. There's the product roadmap, built in sprints. And there's a steady stream of customer implementations, each with its own kickoff, data migration, training and go-live date that the customer has already announced internally.

San Diego is a major centre for life sciences, and if that's your market you'll recognise the pattern. When both kinds of work sit in separate tools, the conflict shows up late: a go-live needs an engineer for a data import the same week that engineer is committed to a release.

Capacity planning on Team and up covers both, with approved leave included, so a product manager can see that the import and the release are competing for the same person before either date is promised.

Release dates a customer can plan around

Health and science customers often have to schedule training, validation or internal sign-off around your release. A short slip on your side can push their own plans back much further. On Business, delivery forecasts are recalculated from your team's measured velocity at the close of each sprint, so a slipping release is visible early enough to tell customers before their plans are built on it.

On the engineering side, GitHub branches move cards and merged pull requests close them, from Team upwards, so the board reflects what has actually shipped. Product keeps the release decisions in the built-in wiki, with page history, which is useful when a customer's reviewer asks why a feature changed between versions.

On Team and Business, AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Antigravity) can work with the workspace over MCP, acting with the user's own permissions. Business records their actions in the workspace audit log, alongside everyone else's.

Calendars on both sides

Your team's availability and your customers' both dip at the same points in the US year: Thanksgiving week in late November, Independence Day on 4 July and the end-of-December holidays. A go-live booked into one of those weeks is likely to be missing someone on one side. Approved leave shows in capacity planning, so pick dates with that in view.

ShipSprint doesn't record screens, keystrokes or activity. On Business, scorecards are leave-adjusted and each person can see their own.

Before a San Diego SaaS company signs up

Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is built by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, India. There's no office or local entity in the US, and support is provided by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 13 hours 30 minutes ahead of San Diego in winter and 12 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Replies usually arrive the same working day in India, which is your overnight, so set up the workspace well before a customer go-live depends on it.

Billing. Billing is per seat in Indian rupees, through Razorpay, with your bank converting the charge to dollars. Your accountant can say whether any sales or use tax applies.

Data protection. Your customers' vendor reviews will ask where their data goes. California's CCPA applies to many businesses that handle Californians' data; HIPAA covers health information; and the US has no one federal privacy law. Don't copy patient data into tickets unless your agreements allow it. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against those obligations and your customer contracts.
