A tool a team lead can try without a procurement cycle

Seattle is one of the main US centres for cloud computing and enterprise software, and many people on the city's product teams have spent time inside large organisations with heavyweight tooling: a workflow builder, a permissions matrix, a training course before anyone can move a card. When they start something smaller, or run a team inside something bigger, they often want the opposite.

ShipSprint is meant for that team. Plans and prices are published, and the 14-day trial gives the full Business plan with a sample project already loaded and no card, so a lead can judge it on real work before anyone above them signs anything. If nobody upgrades when the trial ends, the workspace drops to Free and nothing is deleted.

The setup is short on purpose. Boards come with per-column WIP limits, new requests go to a triage inbox instead of someone's messages, and templates exist for engineering, HR, marketing and operations on the same subscription.

Dates that hold up across a long release

Platform and enterprise work tends to run on long releases with other teams waiting on yours. A small slip that nobody flags in week three becomes a missed integration date for someone else in week ten.

On Business, ShipSprint recalculates delivery forecasts from the team's measured velocity each time a sprint closes, so a date moving out of reach is visible while there's still room to cut scope or warn the team that depends on you. On Team and up, the board keeps itself honest from GitHub: a branch moves its card and a merged pull request closes it, which means the forecast is built on what actually merged rather than on cards someone forgot to drag.

Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and out-of-office. Plan around Thanksgiving week in late November, Independence Day on 4 July and the end-of-December holidays, when a release that looked comfortable can be short of people for a week.

Who uses it, and for what

Engineering gets the most depth, but the rest of the company works in the same place with its own words.

Engineers

A "my day" screen with today's items and a one-tap "I'm blocked" button that brings in the right person with the context attached.

Engineering managers

The manager dashboard and timesheets on Team; scorecards and delivery forecasts on Business, both adjusted for approved leave.

Product

Specs and decisions in the built-in wiki with page history. Any sentence can be turned into a task without copying it anywhere.

HR and operations

Hiring pipelines, onboarding checklists and recurring operational work, each with its own template rather than a relabelled sprint board.

Asking the workspace instead of a meeting

On Team and Business, Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and Antigravity connect to the workspace over MCP. Someone can ask what's blocked in the current release or update a task from their editor, and the assistant only sees and does what that person could. On Business, every action an assistant takes is recorded in the workspace audit log.

None of this relies on watching people. There are no screenshots, no keystroke logging and no activity tracking. Time logs are entered by the person who did the work, in about five seconds, and reminders about a missing log go to that person, not to their manager.

Before a Seattle team signs up

Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is made by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, India. There is no office or local entity in the US, and support is by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 13 hours 30 minutes ahead of Seattle in winter and 12 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer, so our working days barely touch. A question sent in your afternoon reaches us around the start of the Indian day, and replies usually come that same Indian working day, which is your night. Write questions with screenshots and steps so one reply can settle them.

Billing. Seats are billed per user in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the charge to dollars. Whether Washington State sales or use tax applies to a service bought from abroad is a question for your accountant.

Data protection. The US has no single federal privacy law. A patchwork of state laws, California's CCPA among them, sits alongside sector rules such as HIPAA for health data. Read the sub-processor list and the security overview and check both against your own obligations and your customer contracts before putting personal data in the workspace.
