The board says one thing, the repository says another

Every developer has finished a piece of work, opened the pull request and moved straight on to the next task without touching the card. Multiply that by a team and a sprint, and by Thursday the board is a rough guess. Stand-ups then turn into reconciling the board with the code before anyone discusses what's actually blocked.

On Team and Business, ShipSprint takes card status from GitHub. Opening a branch for a card moves it into progress, and merging the pull request closes it. The board stays as current as the repository because the repository is what updates it.

Data protection. Commit messages and bug reports can carry personal information, which in Canada falls under PIPEDA and, for many BC organisations, the province's own privacy law. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against those obligations and any client contract before connecting a repository.
