Release week, and the week after
Shipping a SaaS release is two jobs. The first is getting it out: final fixes merged, release notes written, customer success briefed, marketing ready. The second starts the next morning, when customers find the edge cases, support forwards a dozen reports, and engineering has to decide which ones are real bugs, which are misunderstandings and which can wait.
Without a routine, the second job swallows the next sprint. Engineers fix whatever reached them first, duplicates get fixed twice, and the roadmap item that was meant to start on Monday starts on Thursday.
ShipSprint gives both jobs a shape. A release checklist sits on the board next to the sprint, so engineering, support and marketing tick off their own parts in one place. After release, every report goes into a triage inbox. One person sorts it each morning, spots duplicates before anyone writes code, and puts real bugs onto the board with the customer's report attached.
The board knows what merged
On Team and up, ShipSprint connects to GitHub. A branch moves its card into progress, and a merged pull request closes it. On release day, that means the board shows exactly which fixes are in, without anyone checking cards against the commit log.
Per-column WIP limits keep hotfix work from crowding out everything else. If "in progress" is full of post-release fixes, the board says so, and the decision to delay a roadmap item is made deliberately.
Engineers can stay in their editor. On Team and up, Claude Code, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT and Antigravity connect over MCP with each engineer's own permissions, so "which bugs from the last release are assigned to me?" gets answered without opening a browser tab.
Who does what around a release
Sprints and hotfixes on WIP-limited boards, kept current by GitHub on Team and up.
Post-release reports into the triage inbox, so nothing goes straight to an engineer's messages.
Release scope and decisions in the wiki, with page history. Any sentence can become a task.
Release notes and announcement checklists on marketing templates, in the same workspace.
On Business, the owner command center, a Monday digest and forecasts for the next release.
Setting the next date honestly
On Business, delivery forecasts are recalculated from measured velocity as each sprint closes, including the sprints that were half taken over by post-release fixes. The next release date reflects what the team really does, rather than what it planned to do.
Capacity matters as much as velocity. On Team and up, approved leave, out-of-office and public holidays count. Releasing just before Diwali, when much of the team will be away, leaves few people to handle what comes back, and the same goes for Holi in the spring. If your engineers come from different states, their regional festivals vary from state to state and belong in the plan too. Teams that work some Saturdays should plan on those days.
Using ShipSprint from Noida: before you start
Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is a product of Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, billed in rupees with GST-compliant invoices. Support is by email and in-app chat, with priority support on Business.
Time zones. Support keeps IST hours, as you do, and usually replies the same working day. Raise setup questions early in release week rather than on release night.
Billing. Each user's seat is billed in rupees through Razorpay. Prices exclude GST; the invoice shows it, and a valid GSTIN allows input-tax credit. Your accountant can confirm.
Data protection. Customer reports often include names, emails and screenshots of their accounts, which are personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against the Act and your customer terms before copying those reports in.
