Several clients, one bench, different expectations

An IT services firm's engineers rarely work on one thing. The same person might handle a support contract for one client, a staff-augmentation role for another and a fixed-scope project for a third, each with its own way of raising requests and its own idea of what a weekly report should contain.

Without structure, the most insistent client gets the most time, and nobody can say how much of the bench each contract really uses until hours are pieced together at month end. For clients abroad, there's an extra layer: they can't see the work happening, so a late or vague report quickly becomes a question about the whole relationship.

ShipSprint gives each client its own project and board, with per-column WIP limits that show when a client's queue is full. All incoming work goes into a triage inbox and is assigned by someone on your side, so priority follows the contract rather than the loudest email.

How the bench runs

One project per contract

Support retainers, project builds and augmentation roles each get their own board, so nothing from one client leaks into another's report.

Triage before work starts

Change requests wait in the inbox until they're accepted, which is the moment to ask whether they're in scope.

Time logged as it happens

On Team and up, engineers log hours in about five seconds after each task. Missing days prompt the engineer, not their manager.

Weekly timesheets per client

Hours collect into a timesheet per person, already attached to the right client project, ready for invoicing or contract reports.

A forecast per engagement

On Business, each project's delivery date is forecast from its own measured velocity as sprints close.

Reports a client abroad can trust

For a client in another country, the weekly report is the relationship. ShipSprint makes it cheaper to produce and harder to dispute: the board shows what moved, the timesheet shows the hours, and on Business the forecast shows whether the date still holds. On Team and up, GitHub branches move cards and merged pull requests close them, so for development work the board matches the repository.

Plan delivery against two calendars. In Mexico, Holy Week and the period from mid-December into early January are when capacity drops most, and a client abroad will have its own holidays at different times. Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and out-of-office, so a commitment made in March already accounts for Holy Week.

Nothing here relies on surveillance. There are no screenshots, no keystroke logging and no activity tracking. On Business, scorecards reflect delivered work and self-logged hours, adjusted for leave and visible to the engineer they describe.

Before a Mexico City IT firm signs up

Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, India, builds and sells ShipSprint. There's no office or local entity in Mexico; support runs by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 11 hours 30 minutes ahead of Mexico City all year. Our working days barely overlap, so send support questions with the full details attached at the end of your day; replies usually come the same working day, Indian time, ready for your next morning.

Billing. Seats are billed in Indian rupees through Razorpay and converted to pesos by your bank. Ask your accountant how IVA applies to a digital service supplied from outside Mexico.

Data protection. Client tickets often include names, emails and system access details. In Mexico these fall under the federal law on the protection of personal data held by private parties, and your client contracts, especially with clients abroad, may set their own conditions. Review the sub-processor list and the security overview against both.

Yes, on Team and up. Each client is a project, and hours logged against its tasks land in the timesheets already attached to that client.
