Eight clients, one bench, and a founder's memory

An IT services firm usually starts with a handful of accounts that the founder or lead engineer can keep track of personally. They know which client has a server migration due, who called about the printer fleet, and which contract has a response-time clause. That works until the client list grows faster than the team, and the person holding it all in their head becomes the bottleneck.

The symptoms are familiar: a request that came in by phone never made it onto anyone's list, one demanding account quietly takes up three engineers' week, and nobody can say how many hours a fixed-fee client actually costs.

ShipSprint replaces that memory with structure. Each client gets its own project and board, with per-column WIP limits, so when one account's tickets start crowding out everyone else's, the board shows it before the week is lost.

What changes when every account has a board

Limits that protect the quiet accounts

WIP limits on each client's board stop a loud account from absorbing the whole bench while a smaller one waits.

One inbox for incoming requests

New tickets and change requests land in a triage inbox, where someone decides which client board they belong on and who takes them.

Hours per client, logged as they happen

On Team and up, an engineer logs time in about five seconds next to the ticket they just closed. Timesheets then add up per client, which is what a fixed-fee review needs.

Who is carrying what

The manager dashboard on Team shows which engineers hold which accounts, so a new contract is assigned to someone with room for it.

Runbooks next to the tickets

Client documentation lives in the built-in wiki with page history. A line in a runbook ("renew the certificate before March") can become a task with an owner.

Covering clients through January and February

Clients still need support while your engineers are on summer holiday. In Chile, January and February are when much annual leave tends to fall, and the Fiestas Patrias around 18 September take more days out of the calendar. For a services firm, the risk is a client whose only engineer is away.

On Team and up, out-of-office and approved leave feed capacity planning. Look at each client board for January before December ends: if the one person who knows an account is off for three weeks, the gap is visible while there is still time to brief a second engineer and write the handover into the wiki.

An engineer who hits a problem on an unfamiliar account can press "I'm blocked" on their "my day" screen, which pulls in the right colleague with the ticket's context attached, instead of sending a message that waits for someone to notice it.

Reminders to log time go to the engineer, not their manager. ShipSprint has no screenshots, keystroke logging or activity tracking, which matters if your engineers sit inside client offices or on client networks.

When a client asks who can see their data

Some clients will ask their IT provider how access to their information is controlled. Every user can turn on two-factor authentication, and every workspace is an isolated tenant. On Business, staff can sign in with Google or Microsoft, which makes removing a departed engineer simpler, and the workspace audit log records who changed what. On Business, delivery forecasts also recalculate each client project's end date from measured velocity as sprints close, useful for project work alongside the support queue.

Buying ShipSprint from Santiago: the essentials

Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., based in Hyderabad, India, builds and sells ShipSprint. It has no office or local entity in Chile. Support comes by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 8 hours 30 minutes ahead of Santiago in January, while Chile is on summer time, and 9 hours 30 minutes ahead in July. Replies usually arrive the same Indian working day, which for you often means overnight, so include the client name, the board and a screenshot of the issue in the first message.

Billing. Seats are charged per user in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the amount to pesos. Whether IVA applies to a service bought from a foreign provider, and how to account for it, is for your accountant to confirm.

Data protection. Chile's Law 19,628 covers personal data today, and Law 21,719 is set to replace it. Client tickets often contain names, emails and device details, so read the sub-processor list and the security overview against both the law and what your client contracts promise before you import any.
