The spec, the feedback and the board are three different places

Early in a SaaS product's life, the important decisions are about what not to build. A handful of early customers each want something slightly different, the founders have a view, and engineering knows what's cheap and what isn't. The reasoning behind each choice ends up in a call summary, a document, a chat thread and the head of whoever was in the room.

Six months later, a new hire asks why the permissions model works the way it does, and nobody can find the answer. Or an early customer asks what happened to the feature they suggested, and the honest reply is that nobody remembers deciding.

ShipSprint puts the spec and the work side by side. Product writes in the built-in wiki, with page history showing how a spec changed. Any sentence on the page can become a task on the sprint board. Customer feedback goes into a triage inbox, where product decides what to do with each item, and that decision is recorded rather than lost.

Telling a customer when, without guessing

Early customers ask for dates, and small teams tend to give optimistic ones. On Business, delivery forecasts are recalculated from the team's measured velocity each time a sprint closes, so the date you give is based on how fast the team has actually been shipping, and it moves as soon as that changes.

Engineers who'd rather not switch windows can use Claude Code, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT or Antigravity over MCP on Team and up, to check what's assigned or update a card from the editor. The assistant acts with that person's own permissions. On Business, its actions are recorded in the workspace audit log, which is a reasonable thing to be able to show when a larger customer's security questionnaire arrives.

Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and public holidays: the bank holiday weekends, Easter, and Christmas to New Year. A release promised for the first week of January is planned knowing who is off over the break.

Using ShipSprint from Oxford: four things to check

Time zones. IST is 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of Oxford in winter and 4 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer, so our afternoon is your morning. Expect a reply the same working day, Indian time, for something sent early; later questions may roll into the next day.

Billing. Seats are billed in Indian rupees through Razorpay, with your bank converting to sterling. How VAT applies to a service bought from outside the UK is one for your accountant.

Data protection. Customer feedback often contains names and emails, which brings it under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Review the sub-processor list and the security overview against those duties and the terms you've agreed with customers before pasting their details in.
