Planned projects and surprise tickets, same people

An IT services firm rarely gets to separate its work cleanly. The engineer migrating one client's identity setup this week is also the person who knows another client's firewall, so when that client's VPN breaks on Tuesday, the migration stops. With technology a large part of Austin's economy, many local IT firms serve software companies that grow quickly and add requests faster than they add budget.

The usual damage is small and cumulative: a migration slips a week because nobody saw how many tickets were landing on the same two people, and the client learns about it at the status call.

ShipSprint gives each client its own project and board, so planned work is visible per account. Unplanned requests go to a triage inbox first, where a lead decides whether a ticket jumps the queue or waits, instead of every request landing straight on whoever the client emailed.

How a multi-client IT firm sets it up

The operations templates and vocabulary suit service work, and the engineering ones suit build projects, on the same subscription.

A project per client

Each account gets its own board and history. Team allows up to 100 projects, and Business removes the limit for firms with a long client list.

WIP limits that protect a migration

Per-column limits show when the people on a client's project already have too much in progress, before a new ticket is added on top.

Triage before assignment

Tickets and change requests land in one inbox. A lead sets priority and assigns them, so the loudest client doesn't automatically go first.

"I'm blocked" with context

When an engineer is waiting on a client's admin credentials or a vendor, one tap pulls in the person who can chase it, with the card attached.

Runbooks in the wiki

Client environments, escalation contacts and procedures sit in the built-in wiki with page history. Any line in a runbook can become a task.

Hours you can put on an invoice

For a firm billing time and materials, a forgotten hour is lost revenue. On Team and up, time is logged in about five seconds next to the task just finished, and each task already belongs to a client's project, so timesheets show where the hours went without a Friday reconstruction. Reminders to log time go to the engineer, not their manager.

The manager dashboard on Team shows who is carrying what across accounts. On Business, scorecards add a view of delivered work per person, adjusted for approved leave and visible to the person they describe, and the owner command center pulls every client into one screen for the owner deciding whether the bench can take another contract.

There are no screenshots, keystroke logs or activity tracking. Capacity planning counts approved leave and out-of-office, which matters most around Thanksgiving week in late November, Independence Day on 4 July and the end-of-December holidays, when clients still expect tickets answered and fewer engineers are around to answer them.

Before an Austin IT firm signs up

Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company in Hyderabad, India. We have no office or local entity in the US. Support is by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 11 hours 30 minutes ahead of Austin in winter and 10 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Our replies usually come the same working day in India, which is your night, so plan setup questions a day ahead of a client go-live rather than during it.

Billing. Per-seat charges are in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank handles the conversion to dollars. Whether Texas sales or use tax applies to a service bought from abroad is a question for your accountant.

Data protection. There's no single federal privacy law in the US; state laws such as California's CCPA and sector rules like HIPAA apply depending on whose data you hold. If tickets you copy in contain your clients' user details, compare the sub-processor list and the security overview with your own duties and each client's contract first.

Yes. Anyone you invite to the workspace is a user on your plan and counts as a seat, so it's worth deciding up front which client contacts really need access. Every workspace is an isolated tenant, and every user can turn on two-factor authentication.
