When the software schedule depends on something physical

San Jose sits in Silicon Valley, a region named after the silicon chip industry, and if your software is written for hardware (firmware for a new board, drivers for a chip, test tooling for a lab, management software for a device), your team likely shares a planning problem that pure software teams don't have. Some of their dependencies are physical, and a slip in one of them moves everything after it.

A sprint board alone doesn't capture that. The firmware team plans two weeks of work assuming prototype boards arrive on Monday. They arrive on Thursday, and the board still shows a sprint that was never possible.

ShipSprint doesn't model your hardware schedule for you, but it gives the software side the tools to stay honest about it. Waiting work sits in a visible "blocked" state, raised with one tap of the "I'm blocked" button, which brings in the person who owns the dependency with the context attached. Per-column WIP limits stop a team from starting five things because the one it planned is stuck. And on Business, delivery forecasts are recalculated from measured velocity as each sprint closes, so a slip shows up in the date rather than in a status meeting.

Requests between engineering teams

In a company with hardware, firmware, software and test teams, much of each team's work is requests from the others: a test fixture, a debug build, a change to a register map, a lab slot. When those arrive as direct messages, nobody can see the queue, and the team with the loudest request wins.

With ShipSprint, those requests go into a triage inbox instead. The team lead decides what gets scheduled, and the requester can see where their request stands on the board instead of asking. The built-in wiki holds the shared specifications, with page history, and any sentence in a spec can become a task for whichever team owns it.

On Team and up, the GitHub integration moves cards when a branch opens and closes them when a pull request merges, for the teams whose work lives in repositories.

The rest of the company

Not only for engineers

Templates for engineering, HR, marketing and operations come with one subscription.

Operations and supply

Supplier follow-ups, lab bookings and equipment requests as tracked work with owners and due dates.

People

Hiring pipelines and onboarding checklists, including lab safety or equipment training steps.

Marketing

Datasheets, launch materials and event deadlines planned against the engineering forecast.

Leadership

On Business, the owner command center and a Monday digest across every team.

People, leave and measurement

Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and out-of-office. US teams should plan around Thanksgiving week in late November, Independence Day on 4 July and the end-of-December holidays, and if your suppliers or labs close at the same time, plan for the dependency gap as well as the people gap.

ShipSprint doesn't take screenshots, log keystrokes or track activity. Time logging is a five-second entry next to the finished task, and reminders go to the person, not their manager. On Business, scorecards are leave-adjusted and visible to the person they describe.

San Jose buyers: the vendor in brief

Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., which builds ShipSprint in Hyderabad, India. There's no office or local entity in the US; support runs by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 13 hours 30 minutes ahead of San Jose in winter and 12 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Our working day is your night. Replies usually come the same Indian working day, so a question sent in your afternoon is typically answered before your next morning.

Billing. Plans are billed per seat in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the charge to dollars. Whether sales or use tax applies to a service bought from abroad is a question for your accountant.

Data protection. California's CCPA applies to many businesses that handle Californians' data. Beyond that, the US has other state laws and sector rules such as HIPAA instead of one federal privacy law. If your specifications are subject to customer confidentiality or export restrictions, take that into account too. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against your obligations and contracts.
