No scrum master, and a board nobody trusts
Plenty of development teams of six to fifteen engineers are run by a lead who is also one of the strongest coders. Process gets whatever time is left over, which is not much. The board drifts: cards sit in "in progress" for work that merged days ago, and the real status lives in the lead's head and a chat channel.
ShipSprint takes the manual step out. On Team and up, the board is linked to GitHub. Opening a branch for a card moves it into progress, and a merged pull request closes it. The lead doesn't have to chase anyone to update cards, because the repository does it.
The result is a board you can open in a planning meeting without a ten-minute correction session first, and one that someone outside the team can read without asking.
Where work actually piles up
In many teams the slowest step is review. Pull requests wait for the two people trusted to approve them, and meanwhile everyone starts something new. Per-column WIP limits put a number on that column. When "in review" is full, the board shows it, and the sensible move is to review before starting another card.
The same applies to requests from outside the team. Product, sales and support all have reasons to ask an engineer directly. A triage inbox gives those requests one door. The lead or product owner decides what gets scheduled and engineers keep working on what was planned.
Each engineer opens to a "my day" screen: today's items, a one-tap time log, and an "I'm blocked" button. Pressing it pulls in the person who can unblock them, with the card's context attached, so a missing API key doesn't cost an afternoon.
What saves time each week
Architecture notes and decisions in a wiki with page history, next to the work. Any sentence can become a task.
On Team and up, Claude Code, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT and Antigravity connect over MCP with each engineer's own permissions.
A five-second log next to the finished task, on Team and up. Reminders go to the engineer, never to their manager.
Delivery dates recalculated from measured velocity as each sprint closes, so slippage shows early.
Sprints sized for the people who are in
A sprint plan that assumes the whole team is present will miss in any week with a holiday. On Team and up, capacity planning counts approved leave, out-of-office and public holidays. For a Kolkata team the autumn is the stretch to plan carefully, with Durga Puja, the big regional festival, followed by Diwali. Holi takes days out of the spring, and engineers from other states may mark their own regional festivals. If your company works alternate Saturdays, plan on the days people actually work.
On Business, scorecards draw on what merged and the hours people logged. They're adjusted for approved leave, so a week at home for the Puja doesn't count against anyone, and each engineer sees their own. ShipSprint takes no screenshots, logs no keystrokes and tracks no activity.
Things a Kolkata team should know first
Who you're buying from. ShipSprint comes from Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a Hyderabad company, and is billed in rupees with GST-compliant invoices. Support runs by email and in-app chat.
Time zones. Support keeps IST hours, as you do, and usually responds the same working day.
Billing. Seats are billed per user in rupees through Razorpay. Prices don't include GST; the invoice adds it, and businesses with a valid GSTIN can claim input-tax credit. Confirm with your accountant.
Data protection. If your cards ever hold personal data, such as user records attached to a bug, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies. Read the sub-processor list and the security overview, and check them against your obligations and any client agreement.
