Knowing what's stuck without calling a meeting

When a team is split between an office, client sites and home, the quickest way to find out why something hasn't moved is often a meeting nobody wanted. ShipSprint replaces most of that with two things.

First, everyone opens to a "my day" screen rather than the whole backlog: today's items, a one-tap time log, and an "I'm blocked" button that brings in the person who can clear the problem, with the context attached. Second, per-column WIP limits show when a stage of the work is overloaded, so a queue that's quietly growing is visible on the board before it becomes a missed date.

Decisions get the same treatment. The built-in wiki keeps them next to the work, with page history, and any sentence on a page can be turned into a task. On Business, delivery forecasts are worked out from the team's measured velocity as sprints close, so a slipping date shows up while there's still time to change scope.

Scottish bank holidays in the sprint plan

Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and public holidays, so a sprint isn't loaded with work for someone who won't be there. For a Glasgow team that matters more than it might elsewhere in the UK: Scotland has its own bank holidays, including 2 January and St Andrew's Day, and they don't always line up with the dates used in England.

If you work with clients, suppliers or colleagues south of the border, add both calendars and check them before committing to a date. Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is made by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., based in Hyderabad, India. There is no office or local entity in the UK, and support is handled by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of Glasgow in winter and 4 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. A question sent in your morning reaches us in the Indian afternoon and usually gets a reply the same working day, Indian time; one sent late in your day is more likely to be answered by your next morning.

Billing. Seats are charged in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the amount to pounds. How VAT applies to a service bought from outside the UK, including whether you need to account for it under the reverse charge, is one for your accountant.

Data protection. UK organisations handle personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
