When the launch is a moment, not a sprint

The Portland area is widely known for athletic and outdoor apparel and footwear, and many local engineers work on the digital side of those products: storefronts, apps, product information and the services behind them. Their busiest moments are set by the business. A limited product drop, a collaboration launch or a holiday sale can bring a spike of traffic at a time chosen months earlier.

For the engineering team, that means the work before the date matters more than the work after it. Performance fixes, feature flags, load tests and rollback plans all have to be done and verified, and the board needs to show truthfully what is finished.

On Team and up, ShipSprint follows GitHub: opening a branch moves the card, and merging the pull request closes it. The launch board shows what's merged, not what someone remembered to drag. Per-column WIP limits keep the team from starting new work while launch-critical items are still open.

Before, during and after a big launch

Readiness board

Every launch-critical change as a card with a WIP limit, so the team finishes what's open before picking up more.

Runbook

The launch plan, rollback steps and contacts on a wiki page with history, where any step can become a task.

On the day

"I'm blocked" on the my-day screen brings in the right engineer with context, without hunting through chat channels.

Incident follow-ups

The write-up goes in the wiki, and each action in it becomes a task in one step, so follow-ups don't vanish after the review.

Requests from the business

Merchandising and marketing asks land in the triage inbox, so a last-minute change is a decision someone makes, not a direct message.

Working from the editor, planning around the holidays

On Team and Business, Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and Antigravity connect over MCP. A developer can ask what's open on the launch board or update a card without leaving the IDE, and the assistant can do only what that developer could do. On Business, each assistant action is recorded in the workspace audit log.

Thanksgiving week in late November is both a peak for consumer sites and a week many engineers want off, so plan cover early. Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and out-of-office, which helps with that week, the end-of-December holidays and Independence Day on 4 July. On Business, delivery forecasts from measured velocity show whether pre-peak work will be ready in time.

ShipSprint doesn't monitor anyone: no screenshots, no keystroke logging, no activity tracking. On Business, scorecards are adjusted for approved leave and visible to the engineer they describe.

Using ShipSprint from Portland: before you sign up

Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. develops ShipSprint in Hyderabad, India. There's no office or local entity in the US. Support is by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 13 hours 30 minutes ahead of Portland in winter and 12 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. ShipSprint support isn't a launch-day escalation line, so set up and test the GitHub connection well before a big date; replies usually come within the Indian working day.

Billing. Seats are charged in Indian rupees through Razorpay and converted to dollars by your bank. Ask your accountant whether any tax applies.

Data protection. The US has no single federal privacy law; state laws, such as California's CCPA and Oregon's consumer privacy act, apply alongside sector rules like HIPAA. Keep shopper data out of tickets and test fixtures, and check the sub-processor list and the security overview against your obligations.
