A plain statement of scope: ShipSprint is general-purpose project management software. It holds no Australian government security accreditation and isn't meant for security-classified information. Teams use it for the unclassified planning and delivery layer, and keep anything else in the systems their contract requires.

Milestones above, sprints below

Government engagements are often planned as phases and milestones agreed at contract signature, while the team underneath works in short iterations. ShipSprint lets each project keep its own shape: a milestone board for the program view, and sprint boards with per-column WIP limits for the people doing the work, in the same workspace.

On Business, delivery forecasts are recalculated from measured velocity as each sprint closes, so a milestone drifting out of reach shows up while there is still time to raise it with the program office, rather than in the status report that's already late.

Time is logged in about five seconds next to the task just finished, and on Team and up it feeds timesheets, which helps on time-and-materials contracts where hours have to be reported by deliverable.

The ACT calendar and handovers

Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave, out-of-office and public holidays. For an Australian team the periods to plan for are the Christmas to late-January summer break and Easter, plus public holidays that differ by state; the ACT has some of its own. If part of your team or your client sits in another state, check both calendars before agreeing a milestone date.

When people move between engagements, the wiki's page history keeps the reasoning behind past decisions with the work, and the "I'm blocked" button on each person's "my day" screen pulls in whoever can help, with context attached. There are no screenshots, keystroke logs or activity tracking.

Using ShipSprint from Canberra: what to know first

Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is built by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, India. There is no office or local entity in Australia, and support is by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 5 hours 30 minutes behind Canberra in summer (January), during daylight saving, and 4 hours 30 minutes behind in winter (July). The Indian working day begins in your afternoon, so a question sent in the morning is usually answered the same working day, Indian time, often by your evening.

Billing. Seats are billed per user in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the charge to Australian dollars. How GST applies to a service bought from overseas is a question for your accountant. If you buy through a formal procurement process, check that it accepts a foreign supplier billed this way before you commit.

Data protection. The Privacy Act 1988 and its Australian Privacy Principles apply to Australian Government agencies and to many private organisations, and agency contracts may add their own terms. The sub-processor list names every provider that handles workspace data, and the security overview covers tenant isolation, two-factor authentication and JSON export. Check both against your obligations and contract before putting any personal information in.
