Work that waits on someone else's approval

Consulting engagements and enterprise projects have something in common: much of the elapsed time isn't spent doing the work, it's spent waiting for someone to approve it. A draft report waits for the client's review. A vendor contract waits for legal. A system change waits for the business owner's sign-off. Each wait is reasonable on its own, and together they decide the end date.

Most task tools record only whether something is done. They don't show whose desk it is sitting on, how long it's been there or how many items are waiting on the same person. So the project lead finds out at the steering committee that four deliverables have been waiting a fortnight on one reviewer.

ShipSprint makes the waiting part of the board. Approval stages are columns like any other, with limits and owners, so a growing queue is visible while there's still time to do something about it.

Engagements, workstreams and sign-offs

Set up each engagement or programme as a project, and give each workstream a board. Columns can follow your real process: drafting, internal review, with client, approved. A per-column WIP limit on "with client" tells the engagement manager when to escalate pending reviews rather than send more material into the queue.

Requests from clients, partners or other departments go into a triage inbox, where someone decides which workstream owns each one. Meeting decisions and agreed scope go into the built-in wiki, with page history, so the version that was approved is the one people work from. Any sentence in those notes can become a task.

On Team and up, consultants log time in about five seconds next to the task they've just finished, and timesheets bring each person's week together by engagement. Work follow-ups and email digests keep pending items in front of whoever owns them.

For larger organisations

What enterprise and consulting buyers usually ask about

Who changed what

On Business, the workspace audit log records changes, including actions taken by AI assistants on a user's behalf.

Company sign-in

On Business, people sign in with Google or Microsoft. Every user on every plan can turn on two-factor authentication.

The partner's or director's view

On Business, the owner command center shows every engagement and team, and a Monday digest arrives already assembled.

Leave-adjusted scorecards

On Business, scorecards from delivered work and self-logged hours, adjusted for approved leave and visible to the person they describe.

Getting data out

A full JSON export on every plan, and each workspace is an isolated tenant.

Diwali, Holi and the people on the team

Diwali and Holi can take a large share of a team out at the same time. Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and public holidays, so a deliverable due the week after Diwali shows up as short of people when it's planned, not when it's due. Regional festivals differ from state to state, so if your team includes people from other states, their festival days may not be on your company calendar; once entered as leave, they are counted.

The usual working week is Monday to Friday, with Saturday working at some firms. Set capacity to the pattern your people actually work.

ShipSprint doesn't monitor anyone. There are no screenshots, keystroke logging or activity tracking, and a reminder about a missing time log goes to that person, not to their manager.

Using ShipSprint from Delhi: what to know first

Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is built in Hyderabad by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and billed in rupees with GST invoices. Support is by email and in-app chat, with priority support on Business.

Time zones. Support works in IST and usually replies the same working day. For a rollout across several teams, plan it around your own calendar, away from the Diwali weeks and any year-end close.

Billing. Per-seat billing in rupees runs through Razorpay. Prices exclude GST; invoices are GST-compliant, and a valid GSTIN lets your organisation claim input-tax credit.

Data protection. Client and employee information is personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and consulting contracts may set their own confidentiality terms. Your procurement or information security team should review the sub-processor list and the security overview against your obligations and client contracts before client data goes in.
