Releases that depend on one person remembering
In many young SaaS companies, the release process lives in one engineer's head. They know to run the migration first, check the background jobs, warn support, update the changelog. When that person is on leave, the release either waits or goes out with a step missed, and the hotfix that follows eats the next sprint.
The fix is unglamorous: write the process down where the work happens, and make the follow-up visible. In ShipSprint, the release checklist is a page in the built-in wiki with page history, so changes to the process are recorded. Any line on that page can become a task, which turns "warn support" into an assigned card on release day.
On the board, a hotfix column with its own WIP limit keeps urgent fixes from quietly crowding out planned work. When the column is full, the team stops and decides what gives, rather than finding out at the sprint review.
From merged code to an informed customer
On Team and up, ShipSprint follows GitHub: a branch moves a card into progress and a merged pull request closes it. A "ready to release" column shows exactly what's merged and waiting, so the release contents aren't assembled from memory.
On Business, delivery forecasts are recalculated from measured velocity as each sprint closes, which gives product and marketing a realistic date for larger releases. Marketing's launch checklist and release notes can then be planned against that date. Customer requests that arrive after a release, such as bugs or follow-up asks, go into the triage inbox, where product decides what goes into the next sprint.
Developers can work from the editor: on Team and up, Claude Code, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT and Antigravity connect over MCP and act only with the developer's own permissions. On Business, their actions are recorded in the workspace audit log.
Who does what around a release
Cards that follow branches and merges, a ready-to-release column, and a hotfix column with a limit.
Release tasks assigned from the checklist, and post-release issues filed in triage with the customer's details.
Triage decisions on what's fixed now and what waits, and on Business, a forecast to check before promising dates.
Release notes and announcements on a launch checklist, in marketing's own templates.
On Business, the owner command center and a Monday digest showing what shipped and what's slipping.
Don't schedule a big release for Onam week
Onam, usually in August or September, is Kerala's big regional festival, and many people are away. Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave, out-of-office and public holidays, which also covers Diwali, Holi and the regional festivals of colleagues from other states, which differ by state. If you work some Saturdays, plan on actual working days. A release with the person who knows the process on leave is exactly the risk the written checklist is for.
For customer security reviews: every workspace is an isolated tenant, two-factor authentication is available to every user, and every plan includes a full JSON export. Sign-in with Google or Microsoft is on Business.
Before a Kochi SaaS company signs up
Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is built in Hyderabad by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and billed in rupees with GST-compliant invoices. Support is offered through email and in-app chat.
Time zones. Support is on IST and usually responds the same working day.
Billing. Seats are billed per user in rupees through Razorpay. Prices exclude GST, which the invoice shows, and a registered business with a valid GSTIN can usually claim input-tax credit; check with your accountant.
Data protection. Customer details in post-release bug reports are personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and your customer agreements may restrict which vendors see them. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against both.
