Selling to customers who audit their vendors

When a SaaS company starts selling to banks, insurers or large enterprises, two things change. Contracts start to include specific commitments, such as an integration by a named month or a report the customer's regulator expects. And before the contract is signed, the customer's vendor-risk team sends a questionnaire about every tool that might touch their data, including your project tracker.

Both land on people who don't work on the product. The sales lead knows what was promised; the engineers know whether it's realistic; nobody connects the two until the date is close. Meanwhile someone in the founding team spends evenings answering security questions from memory.

ShipSprint is set up to keep both on solid ground. Commitments become cards on the board, linked to the wiki page where the customer's requirement is written down. And the parts of a vendor review that concern your tracker can be answered from documents, not guesses.

A contract date engineering can see

Write the customer's requirement in the built-in wiki, with page history so later changes are on record. Any sentence in that page can become a task, so "export in the customer's format by the end of the quarter" turns into cards on the engineering board without being retyped.

On Team and up, the board follows GitHub: branches move cards and merged pull requests close them, so progress on the commitment is what the repository says it is. On Business, delivery forecasts are recalculated from measured velocity every time a sprint closes. If the date in the contract is slipping, the forecast shows it while there's still time to talk to the customer about scope.

Forecasts are only as good as the capacity behind them. On Team and up, approved leave and public holidays are counted. In Mumbai, Ganesh Chaturthi, usually in August or September, is the big regional festival, with Diwali and Holi on top and regional festivals that differ for engineers from other states. A quarter-end commitment that crosses those weeks needs that in the plan.

What your tracker can show a customer

Named sub-processors

A published sub-processor list of every provider that handles workspace data.

Tenant isolation and 2FA

Every workspace is an isolated tenant, and every user can turn on two-factor authentication.

Company sign-in

On Business, sign-in with Google or Microsoft, so people get in with the company accounts you already manage.

Audit log

On Business, a record of who did what in the workspace, including AI assistant actions.

No monitoring

No screenshots, keystroke logging or activity tracking of your staff anywhere in the product.

Keeping enterprise requests from swamping the roadmap

A big customer generates a lot of requests, and each one feels urgent because of the size of the contract. A triage inbox gives them a single entry point. Product decides what's committed, what joins the roadmap and what is politely declined, and engineers keep working from their "my day" screen instead of a stream of direct messages.

Per-column WIP limits stop a sprint from carrying too many half-finished customer specials at once. When an engineer is stuck waiting on the customer's test environment, the "I'm blocked" button pulls in the account owner with the context attached.

Before a Mumbai SaaS company signs up

Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is built in Hyderabad by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., billed in rupees with GST-compliant invoices, and supported by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. We share IST, and support usually replies the same working day, so questions from a vendor review rarely wait long.

Billing. Seats are billed per user in rupees through Razorpay. Quoted prices exclude GST, which is itemised on the invoice; a valid GSTIN lets you claim input-tax credit. Your accountant should confirm.

Data protection. Customer details in support tickets are personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and enterprise contracts usually set further terms. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against both before copying ticket data in.
