Onboarding customers and building the product, with one team

In a young SaaS company, signing a larger customer often means a setup project: data imports, configuration, a few integrations, some training. The people who do that work are usually the same engineers who are meant to be shipping the roadmap. Each new customer quietly takes a slice of the sprint.

Nobody plans for that slice, so the roadmap slips and nobody can say exactly why. Meanwhile the customer's own team is waiting on their go-live and asking support when it will be ready.

Specs go into the built-in wiki with page history, and any sentence in a spec can become a task.

On Team and up, the engineering board follows GitHub: branches move cards and merged pull requests close them, so the board matches what has shipped. On Business, delivery forecasts are recalculated from measured velocity as each sprint closes, so when onboarding work pushes a feature back, the new date shows up early and someone can tell the customer who asked for it.

On Team and Business, developers can also use Claude Code, Cursor, Antigravity, Claude or ChatGPT over MCP to read and update tasks, with only their own permissions. On Business, those actions go into the audit log.

Go-lives, Ramadan and Eid

A customer go-live set for the days before Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha leaves both sides short of people if something goes wrong. During Ramadan, working hours are often shorter, for your team and the customer's. Both holidays move about eleven days earlier each year, so check them every time you set a date. Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and public holidays, so the plan reflects the Eid break from the start.

Using ShipSprint from Jeddah: four things to check

Who you're buying from. The company behind ShipSprint is Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. of Hyderabad, India. There is no office or local entity in Saudi Arabia. Support is through email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of Jeddah in every season. If you're migrating a backlog or connecting GitHub, do it Monday to Thursday, when a reply can usually come the same Indian working day.

Billing. Seats are charged in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts them to riyals. How Saudi VAT treats a service from a foreign supplier is for your accountant to confirm.

Data protection. Your customers may ask how you meet the PDPL and which vendors can see their data. If onboarding files or support tickets carry customer details, check the sub-processor list and the security overview against those obligations and your customer contracts.
