The first ten hires
Going from four people to ten changes how a startup works. The founders used to know everything because they did everything. Now there are candidates to interview, new starters who need accounts and a first task, and engineers who weren't in the room when the early product decisions were made.
Hiring in most small companies runs on a spreadsheet and a lot of messages. Onboarding is whatever the busiest person remembers to do on the new hire's first morning. Both go wrong quietly: a strong candidate waits a week for a reply, or a new engineer spends three days without access to the repository.
ShipSprint puts hiring on a board like any other work. HR templates give you a candidate pipeline, where each candidate is a card moving through stages, and an onboarding checklist, where each step has an owner and a date. The product sprint runs in the same workspace on the same subscription.
Giving new people the context
The built-in wiki keeps the decisions made before a new hire joined, with page history, so "why do we do it this way?" has a written answer. Any sentence on a page can become a task, which is handy for turning an onboarding guide into the new starter's first week of work.
On their first day, a new hire opens to a "my day" screen with just their own items rather than a backlog of hundreds of cards. When they're stuck, the "I'm blocked" button pulls in the person who can help, with the context attached, so they don't have to work out who to ask.
New requests from anyone in the company go into a triage inbox and are assigned deliberately, which stops the newest person from being handed every odd job.

Start dates and the Saudi calendar
A new hire's first week works best when the people onboarding them are around. In Saudi Arabia, Ramadan often brings shorter working hours, and Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha close most offices for several days. Both move about eleven days earlier each year, so check them before agreeing start dates and launch dates.
On Team and up, capacity planning counts approved leave and public holidays, so a sprint over Eid is planned for the people who'll be working. On Business, delivery forecasts are recalculated from measured velocity as each sprint closes, so the launch date you give investors reflects the team you actually have, including the newest members still finding their feet.
Using ShipSprint from Jeddah: the short version
Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. of Hyderabad, India, builds and sells ShipSprint. There's no office or local entity in Saudi Arabia, and support comes by email and in-app chat.
Time zones. IST is 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of Jeddah all year, so we share most of your working day. Replies usually come the same Indian working day; a message sent on Sunday may wait until Monday.
Billing. Paid plans are charged per seat in Indian rupees via Razorpay, and your bank converts to riyals. Your accountant can say how Saudi VAT applies to a service bought from outside the Kingdom.
Data protection. Job applicants' CVs and contact details are personal data under the PDPL. Read the sub-processor list and the security overview against your obligations and any customer contracts before you put candidates on a board.
