The progress report that eats a founder's week

Early money usually comes with reporting. An investor wants a monthly update, a grant or funding programme may ask for milestone reports, a board wants to know whether the next release is on track. What goes into an honest update

On Business, the owner command center shows every team in one place, and a Monday digest arrives already assembled. That makes a good starting point for an investor update, drawn from the work rather than from memory.

The built-in wiki keeps the reasons behind big decisions, with page history: why you changed the product's target market, why the first prototype was dropped. When a funder asks why the plan changed, the answer is dated and written down. Any sentence on a page can become a task.

On Team and up, time logs take about five seconds beside each task, and timesheets build through the week. If a funder needs a record of time spent on a project, ask them what format they expect; the timesheets give you the raw material.

A small team's calendar

With five people, one holiday is a fifth of your capacity. Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and out-of-office, so a milestone isn't planned around someone who'll be away. In the UK, the weeks to watch are the bank holiday weekends, Easter and Christmas to New Year.

Everyone opens to a "my day" screen with today's items and an "I'm blocked" button that pulls in the right person, with context, which matters when the founder who could unblock you is in a pitch meeting all afternoon. ShipSprint has no screenshots, keystroke logging or activity tracking.

Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is built by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company in Hyderabad, India. No office or local entity exists in the UK, and support is offered by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of Cambridge in winter and 4 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Your morning is our afternoon, and replies usually come the same working day, Indian time.

Billing. Each seat is billed in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank turns the charge into pounds. If you're VAT-registered, check with your accountant how to handle a service from abroad, and whether your funder has rules on overseas suppliers.

Data protection. Customer, candidate or trial-participant details in the workspace are personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against your obligations and any funding or partner agreements.
