The built-in wiki keeps decisions next to the work they affect, with page history. Six months on, a new engineer can read why you picked one approach over another without needing the person who decided it, and the history shows how the thinking changed.

Any sentence on a wiki page can become a task. That makes the wiki useful for the practical side of joining too: an onboarding page where "set up access to the staging environment" is a task with an owner, not a line that somebody may or may not act on.

Every new starter opens to the "my day" screen with today's items, rather than the whole backlog. When they're stuck, the "I'm blocked" button pulls in someone who can help, with the context attached. New people often hesitate to interrupt; a button makes it easier.

Planning a sprint with a small team

In a team of six, one person on holiday is a sixth of the capacity. Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and public holidays, so the sprint plan reflects who is actually there. The periods to plan around in England are the bank holiday weekends, Easter and Christmas to New Year.

Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is built and sold by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. of Hyderabad, India. There is no office or local entity in the UK, and support is by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of Leeds in winter and 4 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Support usually gets back to you the same working day, Indian time, so send questions from your morning when you can.

Billing. Seats are billed in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the charge to pounds. If you're registered for VAT, check with your accountant how to treat a service bought from abroad.

Data protection. Candidate CVs and employee details are personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Before putting them in a hiring board, check the sub-processor list and the security overview against your obligations and any customer contracts.
