Which of your engagements can go in

If your firm mixes federal contract work with commercial clients, sort the engagements before anything else. ShipSprint holds no government security authorisation, FedRAMP included. If a contract says project data must stay in an authorised environment, or the work involves federal or controlled information, keep that engagement out of ShipSprint.

What's left can still be substantial: commercial client projects, internal IT, hiring and the firm's own operations. Where a contract is unclear about what may be stored with an outside vendor, ask your contracts or security lead before anything goes in, and when in doubt, leave it out.

One bench, several engagements

A services firm's engineers are rarely on one thing. The same people might cover a fixed-price build for one client, a support arrangement for another and a staff-augmentation role for a third. The client who escalates loudest tends to get the time, and the cost shows up later as an overrun on someone else's work.

ShipSprint gives every engagement its own project and board, with per-column WIP limits. When an engagement's "in progress" column is full, the board shows it before another request is accepted. Requests from every client go into one triage inbox, where a delivery lead decides what's taken on and by whom.

On Business, each project gets a delivery forecast calculated from its own measured velocity as sprints close. A fixed-price build that's running slow shows up early, while there's still time to raise a change request instead of absorbing the overrun.

Hours that hold up

Time tracking that people actually do

If time is billed by the hour, the timesheet is the invoice. Accuracy depends on logging at the moment, not reconstructing on Friday.

Five-second logs

On Team and up, time is logged beside the task just finished. The task belongs to an engagement, so the hours do too.

Reminders, not escalations

A missing log prompts the person who missed it. Their manager isn't copied.

Weekly timesheets

Each person's week, collected per project, ready for whoever reconciles hours against your billing or accounting system.

No monitoring

No screenshots, keystroke logging or activity tracking. Hours are what people record themselves.

Staffing around leave and holidays

Team includes out-of-office and capacity planning, along with the manager dashboard. A delivery lead can see who is booked on which engagement next week and who has approved leave, so a two-week deliverable isn't planned on people who won't be there. Plan around Thanksgiving week in late November, Independence Day on 4 July and the end-of-December holidays. If staff work on a client's site or to a client's calendar, add that client's closures as well.

On Business, the owner command center shows every engagement on one screen, and the Monday digest arrives assembled. Scorecards are adjusted for approved leave and visible to the person they describe, and the workspace audit log records who changed what, including actions taken by AI assistants connected over MCP.

Buying from India, working from Washington

Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, India, builds and sells ShipSprint. We have no office or local entity in the US and no government authorisation. Support works by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 10 hours 30 minutes ahead of Washington DC in winter and 9 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Replies usually come the same working day, Indian time, which is your night, so set up a new engagement's board a day ahead rather than at a client kickoff.

Billing. Seats are billed per user in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the charge to dollars. Sales or use tax on a service bought from abroad, in DC, Maryland or Virginia, is a question for your accountant.

Data protection. There's no single federal privacy law in the US; state laws such as California's CCPA apply alongside sector rules such as HIPAA, and your client contracts add their own terms. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against all of those before a client's project goes in.
