A rule to settle before the first sprint
In the Washington area, a development team may well sit inside a firm that also does government work. ShipSprint holds no government security authorisation, FedRAMP included. Code, tickets and notes from a project that has to stay in an authorised environment don't belong in it, and neither does any federal or controlled information.
For commercial products, internal platforms and client projects whose contracts allow a commercial tool, the rest of this page applies. If you're not sure which category a project falls in, your security or contracts lead should decide, not the person setting up the board.
When the team isn't in one place
A developer might spend part of the week at a client site, part at home and part in the office, with standups that rarely include everyone. Status that depends on a meeting goes stale fast.
On ShipSprint, a card's column is its status, and on Team and up, GitHub keeps it right: a branch moves the card into progress and a merged pull request closes it. Nobody has to update the board between client calls. Each developer starts on a "my day" screen with today's items, and an "I'm blocked" button pulls in the person who can help, with the card's context attached, so a blocker doesn't wait for the next standup.
Per-column WIP limits show when review is the bottleneck. New requests, whether from a product owner or another team, go to a triage inbox for the lead to accept, instead of straight to whoever answered the message.
What it does in a developer's day
The aim is to need as little of your attention as possible.
On Team and up, Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and Antigravity connect over MCP. They act with your permissions, no more.
On Business, the workspace audit log records actions in the workspace, including those an assistant takes on someone's behalf.
Architecture decisions and runbooks in the wiki, with page history. Any line can become a task.
On Team and up, log time in about five seconds next to the task you finished. Reminders go to you, not your manager.
On Business, delivery dates recalculate from measured velocity as sprints close, based on what actually merged.
Planning with real availability
Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and out-of-office, so a sprint isn't planned on someone who's away. Plan around Thanksgiving week in late November, Independence Day on 4 July and the end-of-December holidays. If your developers also follow a client's calendar, add the client's closures as out-of-office for the people affected.
There are no screenshots, keystroke logs or activity tracking. On Business, scorecards are adjusted for approved leave and visible to the developer they describe, and the manager performance analytics are built on delivered work and logged hours.
Using ShipSprint from Washington DC: the details
Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is built and sold by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, India. There's no office or local entity in the US, and no government authorisation. Support is by email and in-app chat.
Time zones. IST is 10 hours 30 minutes ahead of Washington DC in winter and 9 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Replies usually come the same working day, Indian time, which is your overnight, so when you report a GitHub sync issue, include the repository, the card and what you expected.
Billing. Per seat, in Indian rupees, through Razorpay. Your bank converts the charge to dollars, and your accountant can say whether local sales or use tax applies to a service bought from abroad.
Data protection. The US has state privacy laws, such as California's CCPA, and sector rules like HIPAA, but no single federal law. Logs and stack traces pasted into cards can carry personal data, so check the sub-processor list and the security overview against your obligations and client contracts first.
