Knowledge that leaves with people
Every engineering team has someone who knows why the payment module works the way it does, and that knowledge usually lives in their head and a chat thread from two years ago. When they move to another team or leave, the next engineer starts by reverse-engineering decisions instead of building.
ShipSprint's built-in wiki keeps design notes, architecture decisions and runbooks next to the work, with page history, so the reasoning behind a change is still there after the person who made it has moved on. Any line in a design note can become a task on the board, which keeps the plan and the backlog connected.
For a new hire, that means onboarding starts with the design notes behind their first tasks, not with booking time with the one senior engineer everybody depends on.
A board that updates from the code
On Team and up, ShipSprint follows GitHub. A branch linked to a card moves it into progress, and the merged pull request closes it. The board stops depending on people remembering to drag cards on a Friday afternoon.
Per-column WIP limits make bottlenecks obvious. If "in review" is full, the board shows it, and the team can review before picking up new work. New requests from product, support or another team land in a triage inbox for the lead to accept or decline, instead of arriving as direct messages to whoever seems free.
On Business, delivery forecasts are recalculated from measured velocity as sprints close. Because the board is driven by real merges, the forecast is too.
The parts engineers actually touch
Most of the day is in the editor and GitHub. ShipSprint asks for very little attention.
Today's items only, a one-tap time log, and an "I'm blocked" button that pulls in the right person with the card's context.
On Team and up, Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and Antigravity can read and update the workspace with your own permissions.
On Business, every action an assistant takes is recorded in the workspace audit log.
On Team and up, log time beside the task you just finished. A reminder for a missed log goes to you, not your lead.
Releases around Tết and the spring holidays
Tết is usually the longest break of the year, which makes the weeks before it a common time to freeze changes and the first sprint after it a slow restart. Reunification Day and Labour Day, at the end of April and the start of May, make a short week in the spring.
Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and public holidays, so a sprint spanning Tết is planned on the developers who will be there, and the Business forecast adjusts to match. If someone is on call over the holiday, record it on the plan rather than in a group chat.
None of this involves watching developers. There are no screenshots, keystroke logs or activity tracking. On Business, scorecards are adjusted for approved leave and visible to the person they describe.
Using ShipSprint from Hanoi: four practical notes
Who you're buying from. ShipSprint comes from Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, India. There's no office or local entity in Vietnam, and support is by email and in-app chat.
Time zones. IST is 1 hour 30 minutes behind Hanoi year-round. Replies usually come the same working day, and since most of your afternoon overlaps with ours, a GitHub connection problem reported in the morning can often be sorted out before the end of your day.
Billing. Seats are billed per user in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the charge to dong. Your accountant can say how VAT, or tax on payments to a foreign supplier, applies.
Data protection. Vietnam regulates personal data through Decree 13/2023 and the newer Personal Data Protection Law. Logs and screenshots pasted into cards can carry user data, so check the sub-processor list and the security overview against your obligations and customer contracts before you rely on it.
