When the plan changes every sprint

Teams that build in short iterations learn quickly, and what they learn changes the plan. A playtest shows a feature isn't fun. Usage data shows nobody opens the screen the team spent a month on. A hard technical problem turns out to be easy, or the reverse. A plan fixed at the start of the quarter stops being true within weeks.

Game development is one of the industries Helsinki is known for, and studios feel this more than most, but any product team working in short cycles runs into it. The tool has to keep up, or people stop updating it and start working around it.

ShipSprint is built for that rhythm. Boards have per-column WIP limits, which matter most when enthusiasm is high and the team wants to start five things at once. New ideas and requests go to a triage inbox instead of straight into the sprint, so changing direction is a decision rather than a drift.

Forecasts that move with the team

If the plan changes every sprint, an estimate set once is worth very little. On Business, ShipSprint recalculates delivery forecasts from the team's measured velocity each time a sprint closes. When a feature is cut or a problem takes longer than expected, the forecast reflects it at the next sprint boundary, and a milestone that's slipping becomes visible weeks before the date.

The owner command center shows every team or title in one place, and a Monday digest arrives assembled, so the studio lead isn't building a slide before each leadership review.

On Team and up, GitHub branches move cards and merged pull requests close them, which keeps the velocity honest: it's measured from merged work, not from cards somebody dragged on a Friday afternoon.

The whole company on one plan

Beyond the developers

Templates and vocabulary for engineering, HR, marketing and operations are included in the same subscription.

Engineering and art

Sprint boards with WIP limits per column, and an "I'm blocked" button that brings in the right person, whether the blocker is code or an asset.

Recruiting

Candidate stages and onboarding checklists on the same kind of board the rest of the company uses.

Marketing and community

Launch calendars and content queues, in their own vocabulary, next to the product work they wait on.

Decisions on record

A built-in wiki with page history, so the reason a feature was cut is still findable later. Any sentence can become a task.

Midsummer, July and the year end

Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and public holidays. In Finland, the periods that most affect sprint capacity are Midsummer in June, the long July summer holiday and Christmas to New Year. A milestone due in early August has its last weeks of work in the middle of the summer break, so check who will be there before you commit to the date in spring.

On Team and up, time logging takes about five seconds beside the task just finished, and reminders go to the person concerned, not their manager. ShipSprint has no screenshots, keystroke logs or activity tracking. On Business, scorecards are adjusted for approved leave and visible to the person they describe.

Using ShipSprint from Helsinki: what to know first

Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is built by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, India. There is no office or local entity in Finland or elsewhere in the EU, and support is by email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 3 hours 30 minutes ahead of Helsinki in winter and 2 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. That leaves a good part of your working day inside Indian working hours, so questions sent in your morning usually get a reply the same working day, Indian time.

Billing. Seats are billed per user in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the charge to euros. How Finnish VAT applies to a service bought from outside the EU is a question for your accountant.

Data protection. Finnish companies are covered by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The sub-processor list names the providers that handle workspace data, and the security overview covers tenant isolation, two-factor authentication and JSON export. Check both against your own obligations and any publisher, client or customer contract before personal data goes in.
