When the stand-up can't include everyone
A daily stand-up works when everyone is in the same place at the same hour. Once a team includes remote engineers, contractors or a colleague several hours away, the meeting either excludes someone or turns into a status recital that could have been read.
The real cost of working apart isn't the meeting, though. It's the waiting. A question asked at four in the afternoon is answered the next morning; a pull request opened before someone's evening sits unreviewed overnight; a design choice made in a call never reaches the engineer who wasn't on it.
ShipSprint is built to cut that waiting. On Team and up, the board updates itself from GitHub: a branch moves its card when work starts and a merged pull request closes it. Anyone, at any hour, can see what's in progress and what's done without asking.
Getting unstuck without a meeting
Every engineer starts on a "my day" screen: today's items, a one-tap time log, and an "I'm blocked" button. Tapping it pulls in the person who can help with the task and its context attached, so the question arrives complete instead of as "got a minute?".
Design decisions go into the built-in wiki, with page history. An engineer who missed the call can read what was decided and why, and any sentence in the note can be turned into a task. Per-column WIP limits stop the team starting new work while reviews queue up.
On Team and Business, assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor and Antigravity connect to the workspace over MCP. An engineer can ask what's assigned to them or update a task from the editor, and the assistant has only that engineer's permissions.
What replaces the daily call
On Team and up, branches and merged pull requests keep cards in the right column.
Architecture notes in the wiki, linked to the tasks they produced.
On Team and up, a digest of what changed, readable at the start of whichever working day is yours.
Bug reports and requests from other teams arrive in one place and are assigned on purpose.
No screenshots, keystroke logging or activity tracking, at home or in the office.
Sprints that know about August
Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and public holidays. In Portugal, the August summer break, the June saints' festivals and Christmas to New Year are when a team is thinnest. A remote colleague's own national holidays can be entered as out-of-office too.
On Business, delivery forecasts use the team's measured velocity as each sprint closes, so the effect of a short sprint shows in the date straight away. Scorecards on Business are adjusted for approved leave and visible to the engineer they describe.
Before a Lisbon dev team starts
Who you're buying from. ShipSprint is developed by Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad, India. We have no office or local entity in Portugal; support is by email and in-app chat.
Time zones. IST is 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of Lisbon in winter and 4 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Our support day overlaps your morning, so a problem raised then usually gets a reply the same working day, Indian time.
Billing. We bill per seat in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts to euros. Check with your accountant how Portuguese VAT applies to a service bought from outside the EU.
Data protection. If tickets or logs pasted into tasks include personal data, the GDPR covers it. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against your obligations and any client agreements.
