The day starts on one screen

Each person opens ShipSprint to “my day”: what's due today, a one-tap time log, and the blocked button. Nobody has to scroll a full backlog to work out what to do next, and a manager doesn't have to ask.

On Team and up, time logging takes about five seconds beside the task that was just finished. If a day goes unlogged, the reminder goes to that person rather than to their manager. Timesheets gather the week by person and project, which helps when some of the work is billed to clients.

There are no screenshots, no keystroke logs and no activity tracking. For a team that works from home part of the week, that matters: the tool shows the work, not the person's screen.

Using ShipSprint from Reading: what to know first

Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., based in Hyderabad, India, makes ShipSprint. We have no office or local entity in the UK, and support is via email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of Reading in winter and 4 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. Your morning is our afternoon, so that's the best time to send a question; replies usually come the same working day, Indian time.

Billing. Seats are charged in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the charge to sterling. How VAT applies to a service from a supplier outside the UK should be checked with your accountant.

Data protection. The UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 set the rules for personal data your company processes. Holidays and leave in the sprint plan

On Team and up, capacity planning counts approved leave, out-of-office and public holidays. The weeks to watch in England are the bank holiday weekends, Easter, and Christmas to New Year. A sprint that includes one is planned with the time actually available, so the shortfall shows up at planning rather than at the review.
