Start free, pay when the team needs more

A startup of four people doesn't need a project tool priced for a company of two hundred. On ShipSprint's Free plan, up to 5 users can run 2 projects on the core boards with no time limit and no card. That's enough for a founding team to plan sprints and keep a backlog.

The step up is Team, at ₹299 per user per month. That is where GitHub integration, time tracking and timesheets, the manager dashboard, capacity planning and AI assistant access begin, and it covers up to 40 users and 100 projects. A sensible moment to move is when the board needs to follow the repository, or when you need to show how much time went into the product versus client pilots.

If you want to see everything first, the 14-day trial runs the full Business plan with a sample project and no card. If nobody upgrades, the workspace drops to Free with nothing deleted.

Writing things down before anyone asks

Frankfurt is Germany's main financial centre, and a fintech founded here will sooner or later sit across from a partner bank, an investor's diligence team or a regulator wanting to know how decisions were made. Very early, those decisions live in the founders' heads and a group chat.

The built-in wiki gives them a home from the first week, with page history so you can see what changed and when. Any sentence on a page can become a task, which keeps "we decided to drop card payments for launch" connected to the work that followed. On Business, the workspace audit log adds a record of activity across the workspace.

None of this is a compliance programme, and ShipSprint claims no certification here. It is a cheap habit that makes the later conversation easier. And if the startup changes tools later, a full JSON export of the workspace is available on every plan.

Planning a small team's capacity

With four people, one person on holiday is a quarter of the team. Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and public holidays: Christmas to New Year, Easter, and the regional holidays and school summer holidays that differ by German state. An early hire working remotely from another state may have different days off from the founders in Hesse.

If the company grows to the point of having a works council (Betriebsrat), introducing software that could be used to monitor performance usually needs its agreement. ShipSprint has no screenshots, keystroke logging or activity tracking, and on Business scorecards are leave-adjusted and visible to the person they describe. The council still decides, but there's less to explain.

Time zones. IST is 4 hours 30 minutes ahead of Frankfurt in winter and 3 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer, so your morning overlaps our afternoon. Replies usually come the same working day, Indian time.

Billing. Per seat in Indian rupees through Razorpay. Your bank converts to euros. Ask your accountant how VAT applies to software bought from a supplier outside the EU.

Data protection. Even a small startup is a controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) once it handles personal data. Look at the sub-processor list and the security overview, and check them against your obligations and any pilot contracts before customer data goes into a task.
