A five-person team and a big customer's pilot

For a young company, the first large customer often starts as a pilot: a defined scope, a few months, a set of success criteria and a review at the end. The customer's side may include a project lead, an IT contact, someone from data protection and a procurement officer, each asking different questions. Your side is the founders and a couple of engineers who are also building the product.

A pilot like that goes better when you can show, at any point, what's been done, what's left and what's blocked. ShipSprint's Free plan gives up to 5 users and 2 projects the core boards, with all project templates and no time limit, which is enough to run the product and the pilot side by side. Every card has an owner, and a card's column is its status, so the weekly update to the customer is a look at the board rather than an evening spent writing it.

When the pilot's success criteria are written down, put them in the built-in wiki and turn each line into a task. The review at the end is then a checklist rather than a debate.

The questions a procurement team asks

Larger buyers tend to ask a startup about its own suppliers. Which tools hold our data? Who can access them? Can you get the data out? It helps to have the answers ready for the tools you use, including this one.

For ShipSprint: every workspace is an isolated tenant; two-factor authentication is available to every user; the full workspace can be exported as JSON on every plan; and the sub-processor list names the providers involved. On Business, the workspace audit log records changes, including every action an AI assistant takes, and people can sign in with Google or Microsoft. Nothing in the product monitors people: no screenshots, no keystroke logging, no activity tracking.

If you'd rather keep the customer's personal data out of your project tool entirely, that's often the simplest answer of all.

As the company grows

When to move beyond Free

A sixth person or a third project

Team covers up to 40 users and 100 projects at ₹299 per user per month, or ₹2,899 a year.

Hours the customer pays for

If the pilot is billed by time, Team adds five-second time logging and timesheets.

Code and the board in step

On Team and up, GitHub branches move cards and merged pull requests close them.

Dates someone relies on

Business adds delivery forecasts from measured velocity, the owner command center and the Monday digest.

Small team, Swiss calendar

With five people, one absence is a fifth of the company. Capacity planning on Team and up counts approved leave and public holidays, so pilot milestones aren't set for a week when half the team is away. In Switzerland, watch Christmas to New Year and Easter, and remember that public holidays differ by canton. Geneva has its own, such as Jeûne genevois in September, and a customer based in another canton or country may be working when you're not.

Using ShipSprint from Geneva: before you start

Who you're buying from. Quantuva Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, India. ShipSprint has no office or local entity in Switzerland, and support comes through email and in-app chat.

Time zones. IST is 4 hours 30 minutes ahead of Geneva in winter and 3 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. A question sent in the Geneva morning usually gets a reply the same working day, Indian time.

Billing. Paid plans are billed per seat in Indian rupees through Razorpay, and your bank converts the charge to Swiss francs. How Swiss VAT applies to a service bought from abroad is for your accountant to confirm.

Data protection. The revised FADP applies once you hold personal data, and an EU customer may also expect GDPR terms. Check the sub-processor list and the security overview against your obligations and the pilot agreement.
